Himachal Pradesh government is taking big leap towards eco-friendly tourism and smart mobility by launching 23 ropeway projects across the state. These projects aim to ease traffic congestion in hill towns while offering a unique and scenic travel experience for tourists. This initiatives of Himachal Pradesh Ropeway Development will increase the tourism in the Himachal Pradesh and will also increase the employment opportunity in the state.

Promoting the Religious Tourism through ropeways:
The state also aims to boost religious tourism through a dedicated ropeway project. This help the tourists to reach the temple enjoying the scenic views. One such example of this initiative is Mata Baglamukhi Temple Ropeway: Starting from the Chandigarh-Manali Highway near the Pandoh Water reservoir to temple.

Smart Mobility Vision:
The state has Hired a consultancy firm to identify and prepare the techno-commercial feasibility reports for an overhead mass rapid transit system, excluding Manali, Dharamshala, Shimla (which are under planning). These initiatives aims to bring the modern, clean transport options to other towns and tourist zones.
